Born in Wisconsin and raised in Florida, Justin Coulthurst has spent nearly his entire life calling the Sunshine State home. Growing up along Florida’s Gulf Coast gave him a deep appreciation for the state’s beautiful coastline, unique communities, and residential lifestyles – local knowledge that benefits homeowners, builders, and investors alike.

After spending several years traveling throughout the United States for work, Justin was always drawn back to Florida. Nearly 15 years ago, he joined his father, Jon Coulthurst, in the family’s established custom home design business, JC Drafting & Design, Inc. Since then, Justin has helped continue the company’s long-standing tradition of thoughtful residential design while bringing a fresh perspective and modern design technology to the firm.

Today, Justin combines extensive knowledge of local zoning regulations, building requirements, and residential design with advanced visualization tools that help clients better understand their projects before construction begins. His work includes custom homes, renovations, additions, ADUs, accessory buildings, permit plans, as-built documentation, 3D modeling, renderings, Matterport scanning, and immersive walkthroughs.

Justin has also played an important role in introducing innovative tools such as 3D walkthroughs and Matterport technology, allowing clients to visualize spaces more clearly and make confident decisions throughout the design process. Many of his clients focus on custom homes and spec home projects, and his combination of design experience, local market knowledge, and project coordination helps create a more streamlined process from concept to completion.

At the heart of Justin’s work is a simple belief: every project is like a puzzle. Clients bring the pieces their ideas, goals, lifestyle, property, and budget – and the JC Drafting & Design team brings those pieces together into a home that is beautiful, functional, and uniquely their own.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife, Lexi, whom he has been married to for nearly 17 years, and their two children, Ethan and Sydney. As a family, they love being on the water, boating, and escaping to the Florida Keys whenever possible to snorkel the reefs of Islamorada and enjoy everything Florida has to offer.
